I am a National Geographic Explorer and microbial oceanographer. My work spans research from the tropical Pacific to the Arctic and Southern Oceans. My newest works are at the intersections of science, art, and storytelling with the aim to create works which resonate with learners from all paths. I am exploring how my expertise in science can meet the growing need for clear and actionable initiatives to improve our roles as humans in ecosystems. I am well-versed in communicating with diverse audiences and featured as an expert in the National Geographic documentary series Pole to Pole with Will Smith on Disney+.
